Nevermind the face that you put on
In front of me
And nevermind the pain
You've put me ..through

Cause every little thing you say
And every little thing you do
It makes me doubt all of this

What are you waiting for?

Look what you did
Is this who you wanted me to be?
Well it's not me

Look what you did
Is this how you wanted it to be?
This life you gave away
Was meant for me

Forget about the trip that you've been on
Or so it seems
Nevermind the lies that you told, my tears

Cause every little thing you said
And every little thing you did
You made me doubt all of this

Is that what your waiting for?

Look what you did
Is this who you wanted me to be?
Well it's not me

Look what you did
Is this how you wanted it to be?
This life you gave away
Was meant for me
Was meant for me
Was meant for me
Yeah, Yeahhhhhh

Look what you did
Is this who you wanted me to be?
Well it's not me

Look what you did
Is this how you wanted it to be?
This life you gave away
Was meant for me

I don't know how I can face this pain
I'll keep it inside so you can't see
I don't think I can go on this way, 'cause it's not me

So life has been pretty uneventful. Work was chaotic Friday but good. I got to design an ad and finish up a conference invitation. I'm glad that invitation is done. I've been working on it so much I'm to the point of that I'm sick of looking at it.

I still haven't seen the new HP movie (everyone gasp in disbelief!) I was planning on going Friday with Liz but then her mom ended up in the hospital so understandably that movie date was cancelled. So if anyone wants to see the movie today I'm all for going.

Tomorrow is the firm retreat. I'll be going to Tapatio Springs which is near Boerne. I can't wait! I get to be out of the office and breathe some fresh air!

When you see this on your friends list, post a quote from one of your favorite movies.

Brody: It doesn't make any sense when you pay a guy like you to watch sharks.
Hooper: Well, uh, it doesn't make much sense for a guy who hates the water to live on an island either.
Brody: It's only an island if you look at it from the water.
Hooper: That makes a lot of sense.

Well today is the best I've felt all week since the gallbladder thing. I have an appointment with my doc Monday. We'll see what he says. I went to work yesterday which I don't know was a good idea. I was still in some pain and discomfort and I was tiring easily. I mainly worked in reporting, binding reports and making copies. I got to leave early at 3pm because there was nothing for me to do.

Where has everyone gone? I haven't heard from alot of people the last couple of days. Maybe I'm just feeling lonely from being confined to my bed. But I can't shake the feeling that I'm missing out on something.

My 4th of July was filled with pain, really severe pain. Tuesday night I started having, what I thought, was stomach cramps in my upper abdomen. They got worse as the night went on and I got little sleep. Finally after trying a couple of stomach over-the-counter meds, my mom and I went to Texas Med Clinic. She started poking me and found the source of my pain was from my gallbladder. So then they sent us somewhere else for an ultrasound which found nothing, but they also did the ultrasound too close to when I had eaten. Apparently there's supposed to be a 6-8 hour gap between when you've eaten and you get the ultrasound. My time gap was 4 hours. I got some painkillers and I'm no longer having the severe pain but my whole abdomen is aching. It feels like I'm sore and I can't walk or pretty much move without feeling this aching pain. Basically if I don't feel better today or tomorrow I need to go see my actual physician. I wish they would just take out my gallbladder and my appendix because all they do is cause me trouble. I'm missing work today because of all this.

I've spent the day cleaning my room and rearranging to make room for my keyboard. I'm still not done. *sigh* But I went through alot of stuff and have a bunch of stuff I am willing to sell (hence my yard sale post earlier). And I threw out alot of old stuff I no longer need and vacuumed in places that haven't seen light in a long time. Tomorrow I need my dad to dig out my keyboard. My mom and I found it on the top shelve in the storage room behind a bunch of stuff and I'm not willing to climb the shelves and potentially break my neck to get it.

Also who made this icon? I want to use it but I don't know who to give credit to!

Does anyone know a good place to get professional, comfy shoes. My mom and I went to Payless and they had some stuff but it either didn't fit or was very painful to wear. My current work shoes have decided to start coming apart from the inside out. The insoles have detached themselves from the shoe and are pretty much not wearable. I did find these cute, black, shiny wedge shoes at Payless but they were really uncomfortable. I don't know if I could go through trying to break them in. Then we went to Walmart and I have to say since Walmart remodelled, their shoe section sucks. It divided by shoe type and the signs don't even match up with the shoes. And they didn't have anything closed-toed (I'm supposed to wear closed-toed for work). So I have no new work shoes. It makes me sad. That's my shoe rant.

Anyways, work is good just busy. I'm going in Monday even though I don't have to. Monday and Tuesday are optional but I want the money and I have stuff I need to finish up. I also need to go to the Paisano office sometime...but I don't want to. I'm just being lazy and I don't want to drive over there when there is no one else there.

I bought the new Harry Potter game and let me say it's awesome. I love exploring Hogwarts!

So yesterday morning I got a call from Diane (Paisano advisor and was my professor) called me. The Paisano had gotten a grant from the SA Area Foundation and there was a ceremony and reception and Pete, Amy, and Jessica couldn't go. Pete had class, Amy was leaving for Study Abroad in England, and Jessica's sister was in town. So guess who was next in line! So I agreed to go. I met Diane at her house and she drove us to Say Si. Let me say, Say Si is awesome. It's a non-profit organization that does art education for students whose schools have cut funding for art programs. Say Si recently finished their new building which was an old furniture warehouse and now it is a beautiful art gallery. So I got to see the "Senior Gallery" which is all the artwork, photography, and sculptures of the high school seniors involved in Say Si. Man, I wish I had talent like these kids. I was so impressed with their work and with what Say Si had done to the building.

So Diane knows a bunch of people. So we mingled and ate food and then there was the ceremony. The ceremony was short. Luckily they didn't hand out the grants individual because there was so many! And the theatre was packed with people. I didn't know how I would get to the front even if they were presenting the awards. That and my shoes were killing me (there was no seating in the theatre, it's all standing).

So after the ceremony, Diane and I looked at the rest of the art we didn't get to see before the ceremony and then got the check. Yay! The Paisano has money! It was good to see Diane and we caught up and talked Paisano business. I'm going to help her with getting the grant package together this summer. Hopefully more money will be coming to the Paisano for our capital campaign!

Well my first day was really good. I got a tour of the office which takes up the entire floor. It reminded me alot of the movie Office Space with all the cubicles. I have my own cubicle, computer, and phone! It's awesome. After getting all my computer stuff online and working, this morning I worked on a new recruiting brochure. Then after lunch I got assigned to help edit and format two presentations that a couple of the partners were giving. It was cool to be doing that. Then of course, the printer broke and I had to wait for that to be fixed. I like everyone I'm working with. They're really nice and helpfully especially when I don't know what I'm doing. But I got recognized as "the new girl" in the breakroom which was sorta cool because its how I had alot of conversations with people. I'm basically going to continue working on brochures, documents and event invitations this summer. I love it. I'm such a dork.

So this is my last day of freedom. I start working full-time tomorrow. I'm excited but nervous at the same time. This will be my first really professional job and I guess I'm scared I'll screw up or something.

Today was also my dad's last day of vacation. So to do something vacation-ish, my parents and I went to the Alamo and it was packed! It was so crowded so my dad decided lets go see the other missions. And we did. We went to all 5 missions, the aquadect, and the haunted railroad tracks. I liked San Jose mission the best. It's the largest mission and it gorgeous and filled with history. I think we should have the next Shibb photoshot there. There is so much to photograph.

I made this icon because I love Supernatural. The pic is one of the promo pics for season two. I love the colorization I used and the text is just a small text brush I used. I basically made this icon to show my Supernatural love. This show rocks! Screw Grey's Anatomy and CSI. This is what I watch Thursdays. So go watch it.

I made this icon from a stock image. I think this picture is so beautiful of the woman walking down the dock. It gives me a sense of peace and of moving forward with her back turned from the camera. I did colorize the picture to look more orange and used a frame. This is one of my favorite icons I've made just because its so beautiful to me.

I got the idea for this icon from the Casting Crowns' song "Staind Glass Masquerade." I love Casting Crowns because they're a Christian band but they question alot about Christian tradition and views in their songs. They ask alot of questions that I've asked myself about organize religion. This is one of my favorite songs by them because it talks about how everyone puts on this mask of "I'm good" in church when really everyone is struggling. It took me forever to figure out the pic but I wanted something that fit the chorus so I found a picture of all these Barbie heads and was like "Perfect!" Here are the lyrics to Staind Glass Masquerade so you'll see how it fits and what I've been questioning lately:

Is there anyone that fails
Is there anyone that falls
Am I the only one in church today feelin’ so small

Cause when I take a look around
Everybody seems so strong
I know they’ll soon discover
That I don’t belong

So I tuck it all away, like everything’s okay
If I make them all believe it, maybe I’ll believe it too
So with a painted grin, I play the heart again
So everyone will see me the way that I see them

Are we happy plastic people
Under shiny plastic steeples
With walls around our weakness
And smiles to hide our pain
But if the invitation’s open
To every heart that has been broken
Maybe then we close the curtain
On our stained glass masquerade

Is there anyone who’s been there
Are there any hands to raise
Am I the only one who’s traded
In the altar for a stage

The performance is convincing
And we know every line by heart
Only when no one is watching
Can we really fall apart

But would it set me free
If I dared to let you see
The truth behind the person
That you imagine me to be

Would your arms be open
Or would you walk away
Would the love of Jesus
Be enough to make you stay

To Kill A Mockingbird
To Kill A Mockingbird is my favorite book ever. I read it in high school and it was one of the books I actually liked reading. It just seemed so real and touched on really important topics. Atticus is the best; he is filled with wisdom and hope, and he fights against the odds. I love the trial part because he so proves the guy is innocent but racism triumphs but Atticus is always fighting it. There are so many other awesome parts that just strike you right in the heart. I need to go read it again now.

Michael Crichton
Michael Crichton is one of my favorite authors though logically he shouldn't be. His books are very scientific. The first few chapters are usually spent on explaining whatever science/technology will be central to the plot. But then after that he story really gets going and I can't put the book down. He has great characters that I get so wrapped up in. I have alot of his books, my favorites being Timeline and Airframe. All his books are better than the movie versions made so read the books!

Communication
This is my new minor and I have to say I enjoy it so far. I've only taken one Com class so far but I love the theories and learning about how people communicate with each other. I find it fansinating. I feel it compliments my English/writing degree because it's helping me aim my writing to different audiences. I have two more Com classes next semester so we'll see how it goes.

This icon is from the movie 13 Ghosts. I love Matthew Lizzard in it and this my favorite line he says. In the movie he plays a psychic that goes to help the family. There are 13 Ghost trapped in the house and each of them has a particular name and backstory. It's one of my favorite horror movies. Go check it out.

Syren Hall is one of my characters. She's my main character in the sci-fi story Mandy and I were writing but I don't know what's going on with it now. She is a thief along with her friend Oryan and she is the "mastermind" behind each heist. She comes up with the plan and has her contacts that she uses to help her along the way. Think Italian Job but way cooler and way more high tech.

This is one of the first icons I made. It has Kate and Sawyer from season 1 when they kiss. I was a huge Kate/Sawyer fan but now that they're actually together I'm not. It's not the same. I love season 1 of Lost and I loved the Jack/Kate/Sawyer triangle.

rome's pizza
I started going to Rome's Pizza when I started the Paisano. It's off of Dezavala and it has the most awesome and most affordable Italian food. The calzones are my favorite. It's one of the Paisano favorite places to go eat.

house
This is supposed to be for the show House M.D. I started watching House in the middle of the 2nd season and now I'm hooked. I love the show. It is so awesome. House is such an incredible character and of course Hugh Laurie is a terrific actor. I love everyone else on the show. Right now Chase and Cameron need to get together and House and Cuddy need to have a kid.

kingdom hearts
This is one of my favorite video games though now I'm stuck at the very end. This game has a great storyline and this game helps me relieve stress b/c I can just bash things with my keyblade.

So yesterday was The Paisano interviews. I was the first to go. I was ok at first but Pete recruited this one spanish department guy and he asked like hardcore questions. Then Diane left through part of my interview b/c her eyes were bothering her really bad. So then I was alone with them. Just alittle scary since Diane is like my anchor in the interview but I did ok. Kellman and the new marketing guy seemed to like me. I got the position. I am now web editor and I have so many ideas and plans for it. I'm so excited! Mansee is news editor which I'm really proud of. She said she was trained from the best. :)

Wednesday I went to Lizzie's house. She was having girl's night. Vanessa and Jessica from her HEB came. They were really cool. They both go to UTSA which was really cool. We went to HEB to buy food then went back to Lizzie's to cook it. We made pizza and had cake for dessert. We watched The Lion King and we all knew the lines. Then we watched Robin Hood Men in Tights (tight tights!). It was alot of fun.

Now I'm still waiting for the accountanting firm to call me about the internship. I hope I get it. If I don't get it, I really don't have a backup plan. There's still the Paisano or Gemini Ink.

We'll I'm off to go work on my final papers and get those out of the way.
